Soisson, Robert J., 91, Cresson, went home to be with the Lord, March 2, 2018 at UPMC Altoona. Born December 17, 1926, Cresson, son of the late Gilbert and Viola (Biller) Soisson. Preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Lenhart; Ruth Plisinski; and Betty Blair. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucinda R. (Ivory); children, Gail Andrews and husband, James, Pittsburgh; Randy Soisson and wife, Roberta; Robert Soisson; grandchildren, Christopher and Rachel Soisson, all of Cresson; sister, Edna Martin; and twin sister, Doris Murray. Robert was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII. He retired from Bell Atlantic as an installer after 30 years of service. Bob was the past president of the Cresson Joint School Board, Cresson Industrial Development, and Cresson Borough Council. A former member of the Cresson Summit Country Club where he enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed supervising the neighbor’s projects and volunteering at the Cresson Food Pantry. Member of the Cresson American Legion & St. Aloysius Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated March 6, 10 a.m., the Very Rev. Fr. John D. Byrnes, celebrant. Military honors will be conducted after mass by the Cresson & Loretto American Legions, Sankertown VFW, and other local veteran organizations. Friends received from 4-8 p.m., Monday, March 5 at Kennedy-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson. Entombment St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cresson Food Pantry, 115 Ashcroft Ave, Cresson, PA 16630 or Cambria Alliance EMS, 725 2nd St., Cresson, PA 16630.
